Book Giveaway: Book Title Announcements!

I'm pleased to announce the books included in my upcoming book giveaway (running April 1-7).  I'm currently at 5 followers, though hoping for maybe closer to ten come April 1st, so I'll only do 1 winner for this contest.  The winner will get to choose any 3 of the following books (accompanying descriptions from Amazon.com):

Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is
Remember Me Trilogy by Christopher Pike (my favorite author)

(Description refers to book 1)
She won’t let them forget…
Shari Cooper wakes up dead. The last thing she can remember is falling from a balcony during her friend’s party. Her death has been ruled a suicide, but Shari knows she was murdered. All of her closest friends are now suspects. As she tries to find her killer from the other side, she discovers her friends may not have been so loyal to her after all. Now, Shari is not just out for justice, she’s out for revenge….
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Lena Haloway is content in her safe, government-managed society. She feels (mostly) relaxed about the future in which her husband and career will be decided, and looks forward to turning 18, when she’ll be cured of deliria, a.k.a. love. She tries not to think about her mother’s suicide (her last words to Lena were a forbidden “I love you”) or the supposed “Invalid” community made up of the uncured just beyond her Portland, Maine, border. There’s no real point—she believes her government knows how to best protect its people, and should do so at any cost. But 95 days before her cure, Lena meets Alex, a confident and mysterious young man who makes her heart flutter and her skin turn red-hot. As their romance blossoms, Lena begins to doubt the intentions of those in power, and fears that her world will turn gray should she submit to the procedure.
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty—especially if they learn of her Sight—and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost—regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.
Quantum Prophecy: The Awakening by Michael Carroll

Ten years ago, all the superhumans vanished. No one knows what happened to them, until now. Thirteen year olds Danny and Colin are shocked to discover that they are in fact the beginning of a renewed superhuman race. As they rise to take the place of the lost generation, the unimaginable truth behind the explosive final battle that occurred ten years ago between the superheroes and the supervillains is exposed. And when the past resurfaces, Danny and his fellow superheroes must face the new challenges that threaten their survival. On the run from everyone, and not knowing who is friend or foe, the one ability the new heroes are going to need most is the power to distinguish good from evil.

Next Sunday I'll have the official post for the contest.  If anybody has any questions feel free to ask.

Oh, and make a note that my next book giveaway will run May 1-7.  The number of followers I have by then will influence the giveaway, so don't expect it to be exactly the same as this one (unless I still only have 5 followers, haha).  Well...nope, not even then, since this is an extra special first time giveaway thing.  Anyway, just keep an eye on this blog, tell your friends, and don't be afraid to leave me a comment or two from time to time (I don't bite).  Until then...

  4. This is a cool blog, and you've chosen some pretty awesome books. I just read Obsidian the other day and it was amazing. I couldn't put it down. Hunger Games is really good too, but I haven't finished it yet, but I've only heard good things about it. I have Delirium on my shelf so I still haven't gotten to that one yet, and I didn't know that Christopher Pike had a new series out. Hmm...the plot looks good I'll have to add that one to my list as well... =)

I've seen Wicked Lovely many times, but I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet, and this is the first I've heard of Michael Carroll, but the plot looks good.

Just curious have you read Vampire Academy or its spin-off series Bloodlines by Richelle Mead, because if you haven't I would highly recommend them. The characters are very well defined and the plot is amazing!

    1. Thanks for joining!

Well, Remember Me is actually not a new series by Christopher Pike. Most all of his books came out in the 90's (including this trilogy). Lately, though, they've been re-releasing various sets of his books since his Last Vampire (re-titled Thirst) series has done well re-issued and because L.J. Smith's re-releases are doing great.

The Quantum Prophecy series by Michael Carroll is a cool series. It's more skewed toward the younger side of YA (12-15), but really anyone that's a fan of superhero stories will enjoy it.

Oh and yeah I have read all the Vampire Academy books and the 1st book in the Bloodlines series. I agree that they're incredible books. Haha, seems like we share similar tastes.

    2. Haha, I kept submitting a reply with messed up grammar and sentences, and had to fix it like 3 times (I'm a little OCD like that at times) :)
